Affordable Supply Chain MBA Program Online

A Master of Business Administration with a supply chain specialization can prepare you for a variety of lucrative specialist and leadership positions in a rapidly growing field. Many of the positions start at six figures, so you might expect the academic costs to be considerable. You might also expect to take a hiatus from work to complete an on-campus program or settle for a general MBA rather than a specialization. You’d be wrong on all counts.

The Bowling Green State University Online MBA with a Concentration in Supply Chain Management is designed for working professionals who want to move into managerial, executive and leadership roles. The curriculum pairs core MBA business courses with electives including Category Management, Strategic Sourcing and Strategic Project Management for Supply Chain Change.

The BGSU program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). AACSB-accredited schools are considered to be the best business schools in the world — better programs, better faculty, better students (higher GPAs), more employers who recruit them and better pay upon graduation. AACSB accreditation is your assurance of a quality, up-to-date education that employers value, today and into the future. The 30-credit-hour program is also ranked among the Top 25 in the United States by Gartner.

Tuition is just $17,850 for Ohio students and $18,180 for out-of-state students. For Ohio students, this is only $595 per credit hour, or $1,785 per course. The program is accelerated and can be completed in 12 months. The online format offers the flexibility working professionals need to balance academics with careers and personal obligations.

Ohio University

Elsewhere in Ohio, Ohio University’s business school is also AACSB accredited and offers an online MBA in Operations & Supply Chain Management. This 35-credit program with a minimum completion time of two years is double that of the BGSU program. The Ohio University program requires one on-campus residency, which can make this a difficult option for working professionals who do not live near campus. In addition to an instructional fee, Ohio U charges a variety of other fees, for a total of $1,032 per credit hour for in-state students. This adds up to $36,120, more than twice as much as the BGSU program.

Cedarville University

Cedarville offers an online MBA in Operations Management that lacks AACSB accreditation, although it is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). The program is designed for part-time completion in two years. At $623 per credit hour for 36 credits, total tuition for both in-state and out-of-state students is $22,428.

Mount Vernon Nazarene University

This school offers a MBA in Logistics Management. Like Cedarville, the program lacks the AACSB pedigree but does have ACBSP accreditation. The program can be completed in as few as 19 months, seven more months than the accelerated BGSU program. Cost per credit hour is $498 for 36 credits, or $17,928 total.

When accreditation, time to completion and cost are taken into consideration, prospective MBA students will do well to choose BGSU.
